Perhaps these overheated technical discussions are just a tradition somewhat sparked by Mr Torvalds. I remember he didn't like gnome, for example. He expressed that to the internet decades ago in his well-known friendly style by writing about 'interface nazis'. I never knew there was such a thing :-D
