Trump claims he will send $5,000 to every citizen if Republicans hold on to control of Congress

Trump has claimed he will send every citizen $5,000 if Republicans retain control of the US House and Senate. He provided no details about where he would source this money from or the legality of the incentive.

“So if the Republicans win, you win with us … it will be called the Trump dividend,” the president said.

I'm not trying to delegitimize anything. He is a liar, and obviously the checks are another lie. The Covid stimulus checks and the DOGE checks weren't part of a quid pro quo. This time he said "If the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000". The fact that he's bribing the entire population at once doesn't make it not a bribe.

There can be two problems at once. Yeah, it's a lie. It's also a bribe. One of those is an impeachable offense.
