What about mass tuned dampeners? Are they not part of the civil engineering of skyscrapers and bridges?

One of the primary means structural engineers use for seismic design is the equivalent lateral force procedure.

In this procedure, the expected ground acceleration and the fundamental frequency of the structure are used to convert dynamic earthquake loads into an equivalent static force. We civil engineers hate movement so much that even seismic design, the area of structural engineering that most involves moving objects, is done by turning it into a statics problem. 🤣

Interesting, I just build the stuff and bitch when it doesn’t work and than gripe with you guys about “contractor to verify onsite conditions”.

Yes, the river mouth is 3m wider than the print. No we left the steel stretcher at home, okay more concrete it is.

I gotta have a basic understanding of stuff, but obviously don’t need to know those finer details haha >.>
