This is exactly the kind of pussyfooting around issues like Abu Ghraib & other black sites, imperialist wars in general, that is leading the democrats themselves into political irrelevancy. "Erm we don't approve of Platner's campaign being derailed by extremely credible rape accusations after we blew off the first ones, we just wish he had delivered Better Living Standards™ to the people of Maine" has the same ring to it as "look we hate the Mullahs just as much as anyone, in fact we had similar operations against the Dictatorship planned, we just disagree with how Trump does it". There are zero political alternatives to the democrats which are not democrats lite or some kind of bullshit cult. I won't elaborate on what needs to be done to the USA in light of this.
