Just FYI, neonaticide is a thing. Childbirth is hard and traumatizing and sometimes it leads to mother not being able to take it anymore.

But, as another fellow lemmitor pointed out below, it indeed accounts for a small percentage of SIDS

    I'm acutely aware. Bringing it up while acknowledging its profound rarity is asinine.

    What's specifically asinine about it? Are you implying that bringing it up could've been better if it'd happened more often?

    I have just made you aware that this is, however sad, a thing that happens and people can talk about it. While I too disagree with the opinion in the OP post, you're very much advised to not try and moral police this sub, because cringe and weird takes would appear here on a regular basis and you'll be quite frequently offended to the core if you take it all close to the heart.

    Please don't take it out on the strangers on the Internet.
