Prisoner Support and Solidarity

Post news about individual incarcerated people by including an all-caps tag of the [three-letter country code] at the start of the post and the person's name in bold somewhere in the title to make searching the community easier.

Its a good idea to include information about what organizations are sponsoring them, what forms of solidarity they've requested, and how to send them mail.

There's a prisoner database at Prisoner Solidarity and a list from Solidarity International that are useful for looking up people to correspond with.

Zines

Posts about zines and prison literature to share with friends or mail to prisoners should begin with the tag [Zine], and should link to a page with literature in printable document format or the PDF file itself.

Posts using the tag [Info] are reserved for moderators.

[USA] A new date has been set for the start of the Prairieland Defendants’ federal jury trial: Feb 17!We have been told this date is set. The North Texas federal court circuit in Fort Worth is well-known for being fast & firm with trial dates. Dario Sanchez’s state trial is set for April 20 in Johnson County. This is not a lot of time! Following a noise demo at the Prairieland ICE detention facility near Fort Worth, TX, federal agents and texas law enforcement have arrested 18 people and brought charges against them that include material support for terrorism, attempted murder, and tampering with evidence. The official story is one of an Antifa terrorist cell caught red-handed. But the facts suggest that this story is a fabrication; a politically motivated narrative used to justify a criminalization of left-wing politics, and to justify extreme charges for the purpose of stifling dissent. Supporting these individuals is an emergency in our current political landscape.

That means continued fundraising for expert witnesses and other trial expenses, writing letters to keep their spirits up, and raising awareness to highlight the importance of this case.
