There's also some "good old" lobbying from what I remember, with SUVs and Light Trucks literally being de-regulated and "cheaper" at a time where normal cars were taxed. At least that's what I vaguely remember from another video of the same author: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN7mSXMruEo (he has links/proofs for his claims, everything I've checked or know so far was legit).
