I was very glad to see that as well. Social media (the parts of it that I frequent, like here) are filled with anti-AI takes, but still it feels like a breath of fresh air to see the same sentiment echoed outside of that.

Thank you... heartfelt... dear Artists, Developers, People... for the ineffably magnificent Art... love.. you do... to be inscribed into the infinite marvelous History... to be cherished... and to be actually learned from... as a human from human... since isn't it for what Art stands for...

Such standing for Art will never be forgotten, too, and will only show the crucial belief, the foundation, the purpose of why anyone should ever explore a texture, 3D-model, character, quest, story, Universe... the ideas... a human created to express an experience of their life... and pass it further... to someone else in the infinite Universe out there... to give a solution... to give a purpose... to give hope...

I saw it pointed out that what is probably Jace's car is in Blackrock. So either she got lost on the way or the intended road route to Suzuki is through Blackrock, but the current map has no support for that at all.

One thing I can't reconcile: Log Sort, in Coastal Highway.

In theory, the Log Sort might be a good terminus for logs coming from other regions via the railway: a log comes from ML to the top of the map, and then ... somehow ... gets down to Log Sort. I'd expect that to happen via a river. But there's no infrastructure in Coastal Highway to send logs down to the coast. I guess they could be loaded up on trucks, but floating them would make more sense. That anemic little stream in CH isn't NEARLY big enough and there's no connection to the Train Unloading area.

As such, I think it's more likely that the logs are going to Perserverance Mills: but then that leaves Log Sort with no purpose at all!

So I think a branch line going to Perseverance Mills, and then on to Port Mary for export to the Mainland, is likely. All that coal, ore, and wood needs a port cable of loading cargo ships.

    Some additional comments:

    • I think the rail line should connect to the mill - the logging operation in ML needs to have someplace to send its logs. Since we have a mill, that's the logical place for a spur line off the main railway. One of the switching yards could send trains there.
    • There could be an Ash Canyon link to Suzuki. The geothermal plant is boring, but it'd probably be a decent transition zone to somewhere else.
    • This map loses the ability for Astrid to reasonably take the rail to the SAR, but maybe it could be moved farther up the coast.

One thing I missed - the map on the ship tells us what the coastline looks like, so that's cool. But mostly just a matter of twiddling the locations to integrate that.

Man I ran into a weird bug during the 'prison escape' portion of the game that made me give up entirely. I even watched YouTube videos of the section to make sure I was doing it right but for some reason in my game a door/gate just...wouldn't open. One of the most frustrating things, but maybe I'll have to jump back in to at least finish the story.

Mountain Town is located "about halfway between Port Mary and the interior mountains", so it also may connect there, even if it's blocked off with the cave-in. So it makes sense for MT to connect via Blackrock to Port Mary. It's hard to see how that'll work - maybe MT to Pleasant Valley or Keeper's Pass. Then that would plausibly connect it to BR and PM.

Edit: Keeper's Pass South has a collapsed tunnel that definitely leads to MT, so that answers that. So the Port Mary connection probably happens via Pleasant Valley, past Thompson's Crossing through the blocked-off curve there.

Oh, and we know Mountain Town is supposed to connect to Blackrock somehow. It seems like they'd need a pretty substantial transition region between those two to justify it.

Another idea I posted in the TLD wishlist thread just now: some sewing tweaks.

1: Start all clothes at 120% condition. Sewing skill only lets you repair to 80% at level 1, then 85, 90, 95, 100%. This reflects the idea that you are ultimately an amateur at sewing, even with skillbooks and practice. You'll never do as well as a machine-made item.

Handmade items start similarly - 80%-100% condition depending on skill level. This gives you more reason to level sewing.

2: Decay rates are already well-known to be silly so I won't touch on that too much, but I think spawned artificial clothing should scale to fully decay after three years if well stored, where "well stored" is "inside and not being worn", while handmade clothing should only last a year. Have a base value, and apply a multiplier to all items, as well as additional decay multipliers for items specifically described as "long lasting" like the cougar wrap and wolf pants. And of course multipliers for blizzard, wind, outside vs inside slot, etc.

3: I'd like to see the quality of the cured hide come into play for sewing, too. Makes no sense that you can turn a 1% quality rabbit pelt into a 100% quality gloves. Without adding any additional items, that would seem a pretty straightforward change, and intuitive.

If they were willing to add a mechanic change, or new items: have hides cure in two different ways, tanned and untanned. Tanning leather can involve applying (say) 0.1L of cooking oil and 0.1kg of salt for a hide, which creates eg a "tanned bear hide" (curing 1%) and always gives you a 100% hide for crafting.

4: Some way of preserving clothing might be nice. Akin to the curing box, a cedar chest with a consumable could work. A fragrant herb to keep away bugs, like birch bark, might serve as a consumable, or just the cedar chest itself.
