Didn't he chase them off of the ship by activating the self destruct? Or was it the Gua'uld who did that out of spite?

Otherwise, he could've just messed with their controls/interfaces enough for them to deem the ship unusable. Completely disabling navigation or whatever. I watched Descent such a long time ago, sorry if I'm making weird claims.

Edit: wait a minute. That's why it was all scrambled! Okay, so maybe they weren't trying to "shut him up" but just remove his consciousness from the mainframe altogether since he was locking down systems? And his voice being distorted is just a side effect of that?

That's a really good tip, regarding a Windows or Mac user who is considering switching to Linux: instead of just jumping straight into installing Linux, keep using Windows/macOS but switch all the programs over to FOSS. Keep running Windows, but replace Chrome with Firefox, replace Windows Media Player with VLC, replace Microsoft Word with LibreOffice Writer, etc. Make it your first step to replace all the individual programs that you use on your PC with open source programs and get used to using them so that by the time you are ready to take the next step and you finally install Linux, you can just install all those same open source programs that you are used to. Those open source programs are all available on Linux as well and you know how they work, so the transition should be painless. You will still have to learn a bunch of little quirks about how Linux differs from Window/macOS, but you will save yourself from the additional headache that comes when individual programs do not work as you expect.

You can pretty much just throw all of SG-1 and Atlantis into a single playlist ordered by airdate. They'll interleaf and connect narratively in an organic way because they aired together and that was the only real intended ordering.

There are a few different choices for watch order.

I don't agree with watching all the Kino webisodes in a row. It makes more sense to me to intersperse them after key episodes. This forum post explores the topic: https://forum.gateworld.net/stargate-universe/82556-quick-question-on-sgu-kino-viewing-order?t=80265

Honestly I don't know if the current production studios have it in them to make the kind of show that SG1 was. If we get 10 episode seasons and it gets canceled after 2, we may as well not have any new content.

i recall that Joe Flanigan wanted to straight up buy the property at one point, idk if he still cares but it'd be great to get him on board as well.
He has a very aggressively "dad" look at this point so it'd be fun to cast him as the commander

Wandavision was all hype and Agatha All Along was beyond cringe. Utterly awful. I'm not sure why all fantasy and science fiction movies and tv have to be cgi-heavy sentimental slop these days. But this is where we are and likely where Schaeffer's Stargate will go (if it's ever made).

You're forgetting that Mallozzi is still heavily involved with the fanbase (over at Reddit, unfortunately - we should convince him to come grace us with his presence and BTS goodies sometimes), and Gero never gave up on the franchise either.

These two men shaped what was best about SG-1, Atlantis and Universe. Them being producers (and to some extent, writers) would've ensured the spirit of the OG survived.

So, back in January, Amazon decided to "shake up" the MGM leadership (namely they replaced it entirely).

That came to fruition in May - and the very end of the month, right when pre-prod preparations for casting etc. were underway in the UK, Amazon announced they're cancelling the project.

I'm 100% sure it's because new leadership came in swinging dick, and found the project to be too attached to the old leadership (it got approval under them). And as usual, new management cleans house, gets rid of all the old stuff that wasn't making money yet, to replace it with their vision.

So yeah first of June was a major hit for fans.
