It's just dialects, buddy. And pretty much every language that's spoken in multiple countries/regions has them, due to linguistic drift. It's not at all peculiar to English.

Since your exercise is asking an invalid question to begin with about Lemmy to elicit an answer from an LLM, why not answer the same invalid question about reddit to see its answer to evaluate the delta if any?

About 20 years ago I was at a party and an old man was drinking actual water from Budweiser cans. They were silver or silver lighter color instead of red and were given out after a hurricane or some other natural disaster.

It may not have been so much to protect you as much as a sarcastic commentary on the quality of the beer. It would be far from the first time I've heard or seen someone describe it as such (I don't drink alcohol due to not wanting to wind up like my abusive father, so can't comment personally).

I believe the intention behind it clicking the ads is so that its harder for the ad companies like google and whatnot to get accurate information on you. If all the ads are getting interest from you then they won't know which ones you'd actually be interested in. I don't use this but I think the ad vault is just the extension showing you what the ad companies think you're interested in. (I don't know why it was brought up either just thought I'd help with the first bit)

    Little more:

Despite the end of their production, about 300 billion pennies remain in circulation today.

If any pennies are rattling in your coin jar, do not worry, they can still be used at shops. The penny remains legal tender.

Still, retailers are already facing challenges from penny shortages. Without the 1-cent coin, merchants may have to start rounding prices to the nearest nickel.

While the U.S. Treasury has pinched its pennies, it's not the complete end of the 1-cent coin. A small quantity of collector pennies will continue to be produced, the U.S. Mint said in a press release.

    Ah, I was responding to

I'd like to make note of my observation this morning at quarter to seven it looked as dark as 5:30am, even a week before the clocks change, which I found interesting...

I have noticed it seems darker in mornings and evenings, and shortly after having marked the phenomenon to myself, that article showed up. I meant to ask for the more scientifically educated to remark on it but got busy and forgot. Maybe they will, now.

I was with you until the metric jab. It's tiresome and ignores the complexities.

Are you going to pay the trillions it'll take to do this? And pay for the errors along the way?

The Mars Climate Observer is the cautionary tale you apparently need. And this occurred in organizations that are painfully meticulous. Now imagine changing any industry.

It's just not a simple thing, despite people wanting it to be. Go to any manufacturer that has multiple decades of ACU tools - you're saying everyone needs to retool. There aren't enough manufacturers of tools to meet this one element of changing.

I do find it frustrating that metric isn't taught alongside ACU consistently. My school did decades ago, but many of my friend's schools didn't teach it. That's a major mistake.

Things like road signs should get both Miles and KM when they're replaced, but regulation would have to be changed at the federal level first.
