What a cop out response.

“I don’t know anything about the far-right party that my colleagues has donated millions to, but I think we should be tolerant of everyone even if they are hateful bigots.” My takeaway is that Mullvad tolerates fascists. Great look.

“What one guy donates his money to should not reflect on our business.” But where oh where did the asshat get the millions to donate to the far-right? If paying for Mullvad is going to line Daniel’s pockets and allow him to donate to anti-immigration groups, then Mullvad can rot for all I care.

azire let me forward ports and owns their own servers that don't have disks so I dumped Mullvad a long time ago. Also they're not side-talking shitheads. Unfortunately they got bought by Malwarebytes so I await the enshittification. Can't win.

One of their top representatives is Peter Springare, an ex narc cop that had opinions so far right that he was bought out fired from the department

From what ive seen, their party seems most interested of live streaming their town hall meetings for likes and prayers and not politics itself, and their younger voters eat that shit up on youtube

The fundamental flaw when a company tries to dress a pig in an evening gown is that someone who embraces fascism and nazism is not a simple "difference of opinion". Mullvad is dressing it up like one of em prefers chocolate and the other vanilla ice cream. And that's not only a piss-poor deceptive tactic, it's also a slap in the face to all their customers.

Dumb response honestly, sounds like they're naive at best as they admit they have never looked into the party being supported. Then they go on to say that you should tolerate any political opinions no matter how much you disagree. Sounds like a dumb thing coming from a company that admits it's politically motivated on the privacy front. Just contradictory nonsense and double speak from someone trying to save face in light of their co-founder being a shit ass.

It should ve obvious that Daniel's private donation to a political party is not part of Mullvad's values or mission

    co-founder

a corporation isn't some entity that exists separately from the people who work there- they are the ones actually doing and saying things as, and making decisions as the corporation

so, yes, it is obvious that a corporation's active co-founder's values ARE the corporation's values

or is there some outside entity separate from daniel and the other ones running mullvad making the decisions, and profiting the most from our business? no? ok.

also I dont like doing business with people who spend my revenue in ways I dont like- yes, youre free to live your life, doesnt mean I want to be one of the people supporting it

its not like (ed: at least some of) the money Daniel used to make a private donation didnt come from Mullvad customers...

people who run companies are like "hey please stop boycotting my business just because some who profit the most use your money to work against your interests" and it's like... do they even hear themselves?
