Sorry to dig up an old post, however the recent kernel vulnerabilities made it accurate again. I'm not a gentoo user yet; I was looking for the security newsletters and feeds¹ but, it seems that they do not follow kernel related vulnerabilities. What are your recommandations ? Shall we follow dedicated news on kernel, or am I missing some Gentoo community vulnerabilities feed ?
Generative AI will not stop until it has ruined everything good and beautiful.
It's not loading for me, but I was able to archive it: https://web.archive.org/web/20260725044409/https://slicker.me/gentoo/binary-packages.html
It's not very nice calling RMS a "cow".

I will try all the distros once I get back to my desktop. I have a spare HDD to use there, and I would love to report how they are on metal.
I don't know what this "succeeds" is.
2014, when I last tried [debian] hurd, it was working fine.
Working operating system kernel. Sounds like success to me.
Get it on metal. :)
promising actually, hope Hurd succeeds one day
Not outdated, but not gimmicky modern. Just plain and simple. I love it!
And start of the Linux desktop
Good, I think it fits to contemporary styles better.
The end of an era.
Finally! Not being able to easily browse on a phone got old about two decades ago.
