Some more cozy / slice of life power fantasies:

  • Bofuri - A scaredy cat signs for an MMO with her friend, and decides to invest all her stats into defense. This unique strategy turns into a game-breaker.
  • Slime 300 - After dying from overwork, a young woman is reincarnated into a fantasy world. She vows to take life slow this time. After 300 years of unintentional level grinding, she suddenly finds she is the strongest witch in the world.

Dumb, silly fun power fantasies:

  • Classroom for Heroes - Your standard overpowered idiot shonen hero in a magical academy full of waifus. These shows are a dime a dozen, but this is one of the few I actually enjoyed.
  • Kemono Michi - A goofy, feelgood isekai where all problems can be solved with wrestling. No real plot, but the cast is fun and has good chemistry.

Power fantasies which take themselves a bit more seriously:

  • Gate - A portal opens up in modern day Japan, and a fantasy army invades. The army is immediately routed by modern firearms and tactics, and Japan ends up counter-invading the fantasy world. Attempts to show a realistic first contact scenario, though the writing is sometimes grossly jingoistic and fetishistic.
  • So I'm A Spider, So What? - Character is reincarnated as a lowly spider in the world's most dangerous dungeon. Very satisfying to watch them progress from bottom of the food chain to world's strongest monster. There's a whole second half of the plot involving more conventional isekai'd highschoolers, but it's much less interesting and can probably be skipped.

SLF is the closest someone has ever come to describing GunZ the Duel in an anime. The fighting game they are originally from where they pull out bullshit glitches to win is exactly like the experience of playing gunz.

I haven't seen Lycoris Recoil, but I'm not sure I'd call the other three power fantasies. Sure these main characters are OP, but they all have goals or wishes that remain out-of-reach for them despite that. Mob's goal isn't to smash other dudes with his power. He just wants to be able to run better than an old lady and confess to the girl he loves. Likewise, One-Punch Man avoids it because the main character's dream is to have an engaging fight and his overwhelming strength doesn't help him with that at all. Frieren can kill demons all day but it won't bring her dead friend back to life.

Oh, I love Eminence in Shadow! I really appreciate that the main character spends just as much time and energy (at least on-screen) being outwardly ordinary as he does being secretly strong. Having a certified weirdo as the main character always elevates a story.

It looks like Aoi is not so innocent, after all, and she's scheming something there. I'm guessing she wants to punish Yukari with Gotou's hands by making him find out that Yukari has been bullying Satoko.

On the production side, it seems to me that this episode looked more rough than previous ones. I got the impression that some characters were drawn off model

At first I was suspicious of the kids easily finding wolfbane, but they didn't develop that further.

The humor was spot on for me, and Mao Mao was the star of this episode. ( the cat )

Didn’t I say to make my abilities average

Mile is reincarnated to another world and asks god to be average.

She is given the median power of the weakest and strongest of the world. (As the strongest is so powerful she is 1000 times stronger than any other human)

Mile a girl who has no knowledge of the world and no common scense starts her new hunter (adventurer) life, talking to Nano machines, meeting new friends and failing miserable to be ‘normal’.

    TsukiMichi - moonlit fantasy

Makoto is abducted from his world by a goddess due to a pack she had with his parents.

He is rejected for not being handsome enough and another god feels sorry for him and grants him powers.

He’s dumped at the edge of the world by the goddess where he starts his adventure, meeting powerful companions and building his own little world.

    Eminence in shadow

Every school kids fantasy that they are special and unique with some hidden powers.

Except it is true? After reincarnating Cid is making up stories about an evil organisation and making up his own fantasies, to those around him they turn out to be true but to him he is just making it up and everyone else is just playing along or he misses what’s happening completely.

An transition episode between the last battle and whatever is coming next.

If this show has a weakness, it's there are so many genres and characters flying around, there's little room for showing depth of character.

Which to be fair is a problem with a lot of shows, but it really shows with neighbor girl, whose one trait is romantic obsession with Sasaki.

    @rikka@ani.social

I wonder what information Sasaki exchanged with Abaddon?
