Talk for Mothers (veritas-caritas.castos.com)

These are my notes. Sorry, my note-taking trailed off in the second half.

For those with scruples: The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Raising boys to be men is "the department of men." It takes men to make men. Fathers, big brothers, an uncle...

Girls are the barometer for the moral atmosphere of a society. They set the moral standards.

Every girl proposes virtue or vice to those around her.

Women's clothing is a statement.

Girls are made to be loved by men. For religious, by our lord. When young, her father. Sometimes, the challenge of a strong-willed woman is finding a man worth surrendering to.

A girl is an examination of conscience for a guy.

Grace perfects nature: Prayer is not sufficient. Must require work.

Are you raising your girls to have a feminine skill set?

Do you show your appreciation for your husband when the children are there and when they are not there?

Do not ever ask a kid why they didn't go to communion. Ever. Same for your husband. It will create bad communions.

Establish an environment where your kids feel safe discussing their problems with you.

Don't be judgmental of women who show-up to Mass who don't meet your standards. Be grateful they are there.

Courtship: Avoid long phone calls, time alone. Pray. Visit the sacraments.

If you have the internet, keep it on lock-down. Do not let your kids be exposed to porn.

“A Catholic can attend the Divine Liturgy according to the Byzantine tradition, the Maronite tradition, the Armenian tradition, or the Chaldean tradition. No one considers that in itself a threat to ecclesiastical unity.”

Yet, His Excellency continued, “as soon as a Catholic wishes to attend Mass as it has been celebrated for centuries in Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, and virtually the entire Latin Church, some ecclesiastical authorities in Rome begin to worry.”

In a recent video, Brian Holdsworth declares his opinion that justice is a greater value than liberty, and roots his claim based on the teachings of Aristotle.

I love Aristotle, and believe he prepared the philosophical ground for the coming of Christianity, but myself hold that the greatest value, charity, is at the core of Christianity.

One form of charity if mercy. To have mercy, you must first have justice. To have justice, you must first have liberty. Holdsworth treats these as if they conflict, but the truth is that only perversions of these can be in conflict with the other goods. Liberty, Justice, & Mercy cooperate. They do not conflict in the Christian view.

Talk for Fathers (veritas-caritas.castos.com)

Outline:

  • Need to set boundaries and for our sons to become men.

  • Fathers need to have a plan. Their sons should have a real trade by the time they are an adult.

  • The dad is the template his daughter will look for in a man. He needs to affirm her and give her protection.

  • Boys don't just grow up to become men. They struggle with the question, "What does it mean to be a man?"

  • No one can give what they do not have. Young men need structure and a narrative of what's right and what's wrong.

  • Men, eat with your family. Talk with your children.

  • Boys need physical play with their dads.

  • DO NOT GIVE UNSUPERVISED INTERNET ACCESS TO YOUR KIDS!

  • Tell your children about your ancestors and men of virtue.

  • Your primary duty is to love your family. The Protestant idea of men ruling over the family is wrong. Authority is for a duty and the duty is to love your wife and children.e

  • You must tell them what it means to be a man and how a man lives.

  • Traditional rites are important. Do manly things alone with your boys.

  • Company-keeping (dating/courtship) with the intent to prompt marriage is a necessary near occasion to sin, so it should be done prudently. Take proper precautions. Dating is not a recreation. It is serious. Avoid being alone together. Pray. Utilize communion and confession.

  • When you are ready, you should be able to put a roof over her head and food on the table. You don't need to have much, but you must be able to provide the necessities.

  • Q&A.

Those closest to Archbishop Thuc (from whom most sedevacantists derive their claim to holy orders) provide strong evidence that he was either not in good mental faculties or he withheld intention during ordinations.

This will be a Thuc-line "ordination," and therefore will not even be valid. Source: https://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_19830312_poenae-canonicae_en.html
