This anime is easy to watch. Top tier fantasy adventure slop.

Sharpened from the OP:

The Beast's Fangs guild is even more comically evil than shown episode 1. On the other hand, Lily's strife seems to be a topic that this anime addresses seriously.

It would also be such a cruel monster for the world's inhabitants. Kill the thing that's been eating tons of people? Well it's significantly stronger now.

And yeah, the centipede makes it clear that the monsters can do whatever they did in the video game. No limits.

In this episode: Ruche attacks twice. See you next week! I'm only half joking, we do get to see a new skill and we get some monster lore, potentially plot related.

I think that the show's choice (perhaps LN's or manga's choice) of having the Elymas narrate their pre-fight plan during the fight is bad. Imagine if they talked beforehand about how to get Rouche on the centipedes back. Then I'm more invested in how they can pull it off. Instead, I'm watching them do stuff, and then they tell me that they successfully did what they planned to do. Imagine if Elyma explained beforehand why logically the centipede shouldn't be able to evolve. Then I think I'm more surprised when it does evolve and I feel more inline with Elymas' surprise. Instead, I'm just surprised that the centipede can evolve at all. More generally, whether something goes to plan or doesn't go to plan, I'm not going to be very invested if I don't know what the plan is!

    Joisontak...

Well that tracks with Joisontak's short testimony. Magic, politics, and esoteric nobility rules must use up too much of the brain, leaving room for little else. Well, it's maybe par for the course for political fantasy stories.

I enjoyed watching this season. The world is filled with interesting things and plot developments advance at a decent pace, it has been comfortable to tune in each week. I'm sure the royal academy will spark all sorts of fun events. I'm tempted to rush forward and read the LN's.

For this episode... why did grandpa become comically dumb for that scene? A strange bit of slapstick comedy, I suppose. It was nice to see Ferdinand and others caring for Myne. We got to see a rare sighting of an emotional outburst from Ferdinand. They did let the evil noble weasel away, but knowing this show he's eventually going to perpetrate another evil scheme, get foiled, and get his entire bloodline extinguished. And I look forward to it. If I'm following correctly, I think the use of the secret passage is the first piece of evidence that specifically indicts Georgine as assisting in the immoral schemes of the pro-Georgine nobles. I think the previous schemes could be explained as the pro-Georgine nobles working independently from Georgine. I could be wrong, forgetting something, it's not a detail that I've been tracking closely.

Also, I don't think I understand why the evil noble has to sneak out to give Myne a poison and give the kidnapper instructions himself. Is it a needless event to implicate the evil noble and Georgine or perhaps there's a good explanation? I don't know what they were planning to do by poisoning, but not killing, and kidnapping Myne. To be honest, I don't care about these points too much; the mechanisms of nobles in this world are strange, so I can imagine that there are many possible explanations. I enjoy the show nonetheless. The issue is that I don't know if I'm missing something that the show has already explained, or if these are intentional points of interest placed by the author, or if these are details that the author/adaptation don't really care about.

The falling and capture scene: I feel like they could've sold it better. I just thought it was a bit strange how Myne would crash but Angelica is fine, then Myne can't get to them but Cornelius could (Could make sense if everybody, including the kidnapper, normally slows down their highbeasts to match Myne's speed. Or she can't accelerate very quickly. Or I guess you could say Myne is just a klutz, that seems like the answer that the anime is selling.), then Cornelius rescues them by intercepting them feet off the ground which is somehow fine. It was just a bit too much all at once for me to take in.

Grandpa Bonifatius beats up the intruders with his bare hands, really putting the knights to shame there. It seems like the season finale next week will be high stakes high action. I'm rooting for grandpa.

Four contrarians walk into a bar. The first one says "ouch, I stubbed my toe on a chair". The second one says "there is no actual bar, because this is a joke", the third one says "no it is real, I'll have one real beer, please". The fourth one walks away.

    But more seriously: yikes.

I looked it up, this episode covered about 1.3 manga chapters. (too lazy to lookup the LN/WN, though that's what I was originally going to compare) The previous episodes averaged about 2.2 manga chapters per episode (I'm assuming there was no significant divergence in content), possibly even higher if we ignore the previous episode which also had a ton of recap.

Elymas seems to be unable to use his common sense or any knowledge that he gained from living in that world for his entire life, and he purely makes his choices based on his knowledge of the game

It seems that Elymas has a realization in nearly every episode that this world does not work quite like the game works.

I see. I suspect that the Ultra Series 1 model is being treated as a previous-generation product and won't get restocked, but I could be wrong. I think if you really want, you can make an Ultra Series 1 laptop from parts. They have the chassis and the two higher end Ultra Series 1 mainboards in stock. Though at the price you might prefer to just pre-order the 13 pro.
