This sounds very useful (once I can pay without Google Play) to set up bot accounts. I'm in some groups that organise on Signal, and I've looked into the possibility of having a bot to post meeting reminders and such. I don't have a second number for the bot though, and operating it with my account seems dumb. A cheap, one time fee for a bot account sounds perfect though.

It's meaning can vary based on the ideology of the user, but in my experience it's usually someone who supports authoritarian regimes because of a veneer of communism. Usually Soviet Russia (especially the Stalin era) or modern China. I think the term comes from how these regimes like to show power with tanks.

UPDATE: folks either I'm an idiot or posting this caused the gods of irony to come to my aid because with a few more careful tries I was able to screw off the guard.

Hey folks, I recently bought this Pentax Q10 camera off of eBay, and so far I've had a lot of fun with it.

It came with this lens guard attached, which is a nice addition. However, I can't seem to get it off. I can't turn it, I can't pry it up. It seems thoroughly stuck. Obviously I haven't tried super hard, because I don't want to break anything.

Am I missing anything obvious or should I accept that this is just how the lens is? It doesn't seem to really get in the way or anything.

Closeup on a camera lens, attached to the camera. The lens has a lens guard on it. The guard is branded Hakuba, and is labelled as an MC Lens Guard.

The camera is a blue and white Pentax Q10. The background is a wooden table.

I'm nearly 30 but it's very fun to get caught up in a fad! I heard some people talking about the Q10 and thought it sounded so cute. It's hard to articulate why but getting into photography by buying a tiny camera that's no longer made and only ever had 8 lenses is very much the vibe I want.

I've decided to get into photography, and I just impulse bought my first camera, a Pentax Q10:

Yes that's Evangelion themed. No I don't want to talk about how much I paid.

I'm really excited for it to arrive. What kind of kit should I get to take care of it? I'm assuming some kind of carry case, but I've no idea if I need something specialised or generic. Have you got any other tips for taking care of it?

    Many thanks!

EDIT: Thanks so much for everyone's advice! It sounds like I shouldn't get anything too prematurely, but there's also a lot stuff I should consider early on once I've got a feel for the camera.
