I'm happy that the support for Aarch64 in rustc_codegen_gcc is getting closer to x86-64! Next step is some bug fixing and testing before doing a crater run.
I'm happy that unwinding is finally fixed: that was the biggest unknown for me.
I'm also happy that we have very few UI tests from the Rust test suite that fail now: there are still some other test suites to run, but having only 21 failures among the UI tests is a big achievement.
We finally run the libcore tests with rustc_codegen_gcc in the CI of the Rust repo, which should help us a lot with the future syncs. We also finally merged a few more GCC patches, so the gap with upstream is slowly decreasing.
It was a bit more quiet recently.
I hope to add the libcore tests (compiled with rustc_codegen_gcc) in the CI of the Rust repo soon in order to prevent test failures from coming back at every sync: this will greatly help us to focus on feature development.
It's nice to see progress towards the milestone of having a rustc working on a target not currently supported by Rust.
I can't wait to see that happen.
We've been making good progress towards running more tests for rustc_codegen_gcc in the CI of the Rust repo to make our syncs with it easier and also progress towards having rustup distribution.
