Signal is probably best, since it has volume to hide in, and it's difficult/ impossible to screw up. Partly because it's centralized. Which is the problem with e.g mateix protocol - each node can configure thi gs a bit differently. Also why you should use the official app imo.

This is a decent walk through: https://www.privacyguides.org/en/basics/email-security/

But simple duckduckgoing can provide much more

Yes. There is controversy about the CEO. But mostly for me: is security theater. And in don't trust them. Email will never work as a secure communication layer. Stop pretending it will. There a reasons which is tied to the protocol level, that make pgp non sufficient. There are also the pgp technology it self (no forward secrecy, no deniability, key management etc). Then there is the obvious fact about an email from proton to gmail, and 99% of other email providers, simply not being secure/encrypted. So you buy a privacy tool, which neglects to tell you: we actually don't provide privacy at all - unless you treat proton emails as proton chat - strictly proton to proton.. at which point youd be better of with e g signal.

If you insist: mailfence.org allows you to upload and control you own pgp keys. That's interoprational with proton. Simarly priced i think, also Schweiz, and a bit more honest and strict imap (no bridge). But honestly.. stop treating email as secure.

As a parent who dont like id requirements but who also wants my children away from social media, this is my take:

Social tech does not require a tech solution, but instead a social solution, because social media is a social problem. My children has restricted access, no accounts etc. But that helps little when all the other parents believe social media to be fine. A law clearly sets a social norm, which apparently 30 % of parents understand.

Using samsungs android (oneUI). I can configure a sleep mode where the phone is in 'do not disturb '. I can make an exclusion for specific apps, such that notifications from those apps are still shown. But the notification from that all is still silent (visible). I want a sound such that it can wake me in the night.

Usecase: :my pet-camera sends me a notification is my pet is awake and moving about. I want that notification to wake me up, from my sleep.

Samsung had something called routines (mini tasker I guess). Maybe i can build something, but it's seems too complicated for my usecase?

    Hippie somebody knows

To be explicit. If its not e2e, it's sent and recieved and logged in plaintext. Tuta can opt to encrypt it, then store it, after the fact. But you cant verify that they do. Even though they claim to. Only messages (which is not mail) between tuta customers are e2e as i understand it.

Use signal. (Or for mail: i am going to shill purelymail which is awesome)
