Our latest maps with OpenStreetMap data from October 25 are now out. You can press "check for updates" in the app to see them and start downloading them.

Just in time for the 2026 State of the Map Latin America conference that is kicking off tomorrow in Mexico City. If you're there: Say hi to our contributor Bastian, listen to his talk about CoMaps, and grab some stickers! 🇲🇽

We currently do not have plans to host more nodes ourselves, but i there are Canadian users or organizations that have spare bandwidth and at least ~300 GB of storage that a CoMaps CDN node could use, please get in touch!

The State of the Map Latin America conference is taking place 27-29 October in Mexico City. If you want to help participants to find their way around town, we will do one more map generation on the 25th, so there's still time to add to OpenStreetMap or review POI via Mangrove Reviews/MapComplete.

Our contributor Bastian will be there to give a talk about CoMaps and distribute some of our stickers. If you'd like to meet up, get in touch via our community channels: https://www.comaps.app/community/

Since a few days, we got our first CDN node in Latin America, provided and run by the amazing Undernet community in Uruguay. Thanks to them, users in the region will benefit from faster map downloads. For a start we are exploring how well it works with users based out of Uruguay, Argentina and Venezuela.

If you are interested and able to help your local area in a similar way, get in touch via the channels listed on our website!

And you can learn more about Undernet here: https://undernet.uy/

Our latest maps with OpenStreetMap data from October 18 are now out. You can press "check for updates" in the app to see them and start downloading them.

Also: This weekend KDE España have their Akademy-es conference, and our contributor Diego will be there with talk (and some stickers!) to present CoMaps. ⛺

CoMaps release 2026.10.05 is now out via F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, Codeberg and on iOS via the AppStore.

New features on Android include links to add Mangrove reviews via MapComplete and for iOS the support for CarPlay Dashboard.

The Google Play release is still waiting for review as has unfortunately become custom with their approval process.

In reality there were two updates, with data from July 21st and July 28th, but those newer maps required having app version 2026.07.16 - so the Google Play folks needed to wait for Google to finish the app review before being able to access them!
