A way to download radio schedules would be nice. Are the UK’s open data laws useful? (www.bbc.co.uk)

The BBC’s radio schedule (on the linked page) is apparently only available in HTML format. I wonder if open data laws in the UK would compel them to make the schedule available in a machine-readable format like JSON or XML. Anyone know about the UK open data law in this regard?

I doubt it would compel them. They have been putting radio shows and podcasts behind their god awful BBC sounds app for years instead of simply making it available on an RSS feed. Why would they stop now?
