For the #MondayActionMovie watch party on Mastodon, it's the hilarious low-budget action flick (and the first ever film posted on !BMovieBonanza) Hard Ticket to Hawaii.

Directed by Andy Sidaris and one of his Triple B movies (Bullets, Bombs, Babes), it stars Ronn Moss and Playboy Playmates Dona Speir, Hope Marie Carlton, and Cynthia Brimhall. And a big snake.

Join us as we watch the movie (each person plays from their own source, e.g. Youtube) and comment live on Mastodon, with the hashtag #MondayActionMovie.

Note: this movie is basically a porno. Nothing wrong with that, but just beware.

Kind of a fun stupid movie, but it’s been a minute since I watched it.

Most of us watched the version on Youtube, which pixellated every naughty or gory scene, even the fake snake!

Sometimes just a small portion, but sometimes the whole damned screen!

I watched this for the first time back-to-back with Neil Breen’s Pass-Thru.

One of these was an exploitative movie that made me feel extremely gross and uncomfortable.

The other had topless playboy playmates.

Did Dona ever get the quad launcher? I thought it was just the guy spy.

The part with the sex doll dude and the quad rocket launcher was insane...

Is this the one where they drive a dirtbike through the wall of a house?

Are you saying there are Triple B movies where they don't drive a dirtbike through the wall of a house??!?

PS: Watched it last year, I can't remember if it has that. Definitely remember it has the "skateboard assassin vs bazooka" and "frisbee of death" :D

Stills from this movie make it seem very gratuitous. 😆

There are quite a few. I've been putting together a list of Fediverse watch parties here, which can be sorted by time:

And there is the Watch Party Calendar:

Re UK time, on Saturdays at 16.00 GMT there's #KungFuSat with martial arts films, & at least one regular attendee is in the UK. (When do the clocks spring forward in the UK? In the US, they did last Sunday. Most go by US time changes.)

Here's a collection for #KungFuSat on NeoDB (fediverse alternative to Letterboxd, Goodreads, Ratemy Music etc)

The film tomorrow is Jackie Chan classic Half a Loaf of Kung Fu.

#KungFuSat, like the large majority of fediverse watch parties, is a "BYOM" (bring your own media) watch party

    • get a Mastodon account
    • access the film whichever way you can, e.g. DVD, mp4, Youtube https://youtu.be/GZxVsClrvQI
    • at the appointed time, host posts "Start film now" on Mastodon
    • comment about the film, using the watch party hashtag
