Sounds like a reason to never connect your display to the internet

Look, I know this is an old meme, but I think it checks out:

I really think this could be solved with a trebuchet. The first time a Hisense 55" comes barreling through one of their exec's windows, with 'Fuck your Ads' spray painted on it, they'll get the message.

It must just be a coincidence......... but..... Quite mysteriously, my HiSense TV never shows any ads. Ever. Not really sure why. I use a mini-PC (with a fewTb of hard drive and internet connectivity) to serve all my media to the TV. The TV has never been connected to the web directly.
