a curated portfolio of their child's artwork

It's a novel fundraiser and a couple of nutcase parents called channel nine.

It sounds like the centre wasn't releasing the original artwork though. If they had just made copies of a curated portfolio available for a reasonable price it would've been a great fundraiser, but instead they were holding the originals hostage for $2200 AUD if I understand correctly.

Maybe, I read it as some of the voluminous amount of art made by the kindergarten kids(much of which is typically chucked st the end of the year) was curated together into a portfolio with some photos. The article doesn't make it clear.

If I'm right it's still a dumb fundraiser but pretty innocuous.

Our primary school did this last year. The kids did some art project and the school submitted them to a website where you could buy it as a calendar, diary, tea towel etc. I thought it was a great idea. We bought a few tea towels that went down well as Christmas presents.
