I had to look up the actual meaning of the word "finsta".

Seems to be an abbreviation for "fake instagram", but actually meaning a secret, second instagram account, where people dare to post stuff freely and more anonymously without social scrutiny.

And I have to say, I really like this word, as it may have (intentional) layers.
"finsta" is also the deliberately crude German writing of the word "finster", which means "dark" in English, which is just the perfect word to describe the intentions behind the finsta accounts.

This is a fantastic word, kudos to the (presumably) Gen-Z people that have come up with it!

It's funny you use these terms because neither are used by the youths anymore. They've moved on to new things already.

Not being versed into dance and cringe content does not imply being old.

Being out of touch with youth cultures is considered to be something seen in old people.

I've been old since I was a teenager. I've pretty much been old my whole life.

Youth culture is not a single thing, and it really is not all centered around dance.

For example, when I was young and listening to metal, my mom fought that all younger people my age listens to same thing. Then she figured out my peers were all into hip hop and tektonik. So was I old?

I don't worry about it, I just hope that context will help me. It's the words that have shifted meaning but are used similarly that get me.

And I misplaced the stupid ring again.
