A judge heard arguments last week on one accused man’s request to remove James but said he wouldn’t rule without knowing if the six other lawsuit defendants backed the effort. He gave the man’s lawyers until Thursday to try to get them to join.

Four agreed to join, including one whose lawyers had previously filed court papers seeking to have James removed. The two others didn’t have lawyers and did not respond, court filings said.

James’ office declined to comment.

James, a Democrat, posted about the case on X and Facebook on Sept. 28, linking to a news article about the lawsuit. “I’m holding her in my heart and in my prayers. To her, and to all survivors: you’re not alone. We stand with you.”

They want her removed because she's the prosecutor and she said she was going to prosecute?

Why not throw out the judge for judging while you're at it?

They want her removed because her social media posts indicate that she's presuming the guilt of the accused beforehand. It calls her objectivity into question, and that's a pretty big deal, as we want a prosecution to follow actual evidence, not manifest biases.

Even if people's social media algorithms tell them otherwise.

If a prosecutor is not convinced that the person they are prosecuting is guilty to some degree, then they have no duty prosecuting that person.

After all, it's often the prosecutor's job to bring the case to the court.

Once they have brought the case to the court, then evidence decides the outcome.
