I mean that pretty much does align with cultural change. Techno-optimism when it was popular was a liberal phenomenon more than a conservative one, hell it's where a lot of the stereotypes about liberals come from (conservatives never update their image about anything)

Now barely anybody is a techno-optimist and the few that are, agree with the neofeudal shit that they started saying out loud. And even then I think techno-optimists make up a minority of right wingers.
