South Park Season 29 feels stuck in a storytelling rut. The series can't seem to decide whether it wants to focus on standalone stories or weaving a more overarching, politically relevant story. "Guinea Pig on a Stick" isn't as disappointing as its predecessor, but this episode still struggles to build on its premise in a satisfying way. Luckily, Little Randy is there to help pick up the comedic slack.

It feels like there's so much worth lampooning in American politics right now, and yet the series is being oddly subdued and wishy-washy.

Enjoyed the episode, especially the dunking on the rich, but indeed it felt like eating a small bag of chips.
