Why is the Andalusian typical song and dance called "Flamenco", if the region of Flanders is located all the way in Belgium? Does it have anything to do with the historic period of the Spanish Netherlands?

Of course, my question is how did it jump from "person from Flanders" to "bird that isn't even native to Flanders" to "typical song and dance of a land that is several countries away from Flanders"?
