When Bolsonaro did it last election it was treated as a crime, but when Lula does its ok. Leftists should not agree to this kind of thing just because it was done by the left

bolsonaro paid corporations for automated mass messaging, this is more like an ar game with the members of a massive group. it's different because one is organic and the other one is a synthetic endeavour of the international bourgeoisie.

lula is not the left, tho, and if this model spreads to argentina for example to promote peronism it's the same shit. of course i rather have them than gringo mc gringus fascist maximus as the president but it's not that much better. it's still reformist bullshit.

I dont think they are all that different. Lula also paid corporations to do his campaing.

Besides, even if this differnce existed, it wouldnt be suficient to say one is legit and the other isnt

the difference is that one paid for bot farms while the other one did political praxis. the right doesn't have actual support from people on the street, they need to invent reality.

i'm not saying there wasn't money involved, but if you think a bot farm which is essentially not people is the same as people doing dumb missions on social media is the same thats on you.

It sounds like you're essentially saying that paying organizers is the same as running bot farms.

This seems to imply that you don't believe organizers should be paid.

Or you don't believe organizers are human, but that's probably not what you meant.

My point is both of them did the same, both paid people and bots, but it was treated as a problem when Bolsonaro did, but was ok when Lula did

But they didn't do the same, Lula didn't run bot farms. That's qualitatively different than paying organizers.

You're the one equivocating between running bot farms and paying organizers, so I'll ask again: do you not believe organizers should be paid? It's a simple question, don't know why you won't answer.

EDIT Wait, I think I see the problem: you think bot farms are people.

They're not, bots are automated systems with very few people involved.

If lula did what he did without bots the msn is jesus christ himself, because it would be a miracle. Im not a religious person, so thats a no for me.

If you say organizer as a political activist, if they are not paid for their work then mostly only people who can get paid without working could be a political activist. Sounds like nonsense

Professional organizers are people who get paid for their political work. Activists are just volunteers.

And there was no "miracle" involved, just people recognizing they needed to act. This was a coordinated effort by a smaller team of professional (paid) organizers and a much larger mass of activists (unpaid). There's no proof bots were involved.

You're just judging based on vibes.

Lula's camp had to fight against the media platform owners, who bent over backwards to help Bolsonaro. If the media (including social media) has it's thumbs on the scale in your opponent's favor, and you don't organize against it you will lose. Of course, either way it is a kind of manipulation, but I prefer the kind of manipulation that requires hundreds of thousands of real people to take part, rather than a few oligarchs.
