As a man writing fiction I'd like to be able to say we've come a long way since then, but I'm not sure it's true... 🤔 @galacticwriters @bookstodon @writingbooks @humor@fedigroups.social @humor@lemmy.world @aiop#WritingMemes #Meme #Fiction #Men #Humor #Humour #Geek #Author #IndieAuthor #Indie #Writers #Writing #WritingCommunity #WritersOfMastodon

So God impregnated a teenage girl so she could give birth to his son... who was also himself... so he could sacrifice himself... to himself... to convince himself to forgive humanity... for breaking rules he created.

This is why I almost exclusively read books by female authors. Men can't write fiction for shit

As a man who writes fiction and a former Christian, I concur with most of it. The Bible (and related Christian works) tend to be crap. The contradictions and tonal shifts are nuts, even within works said to be by one (human) author, can be jarring.

To have your protagonist MC sexually assault a teenage girl as part of their bigger plan, "for the greater good", is just garbage writing, especially when there's no consequences for such a heinous act.

Is it bad that the only way I know you don't mean Muhammed is because Aisha was 9 when they married and 11 when they copulated so that doesn't count as "teen"age? Seems like that be happening in the Abrahamic faiths. I'm starting to think they might all be bad not just the one.
