What exactly are people afraid of? It says "destroy humanity", but how? I find it hard to believe that the average American is concerned about reverse engineering.

    To me it's going to wreck the economy one way or the other.

    either it matches it's hype and it recoups it's trillions of dollars invested via taking half or more of the countries jobs for only half our sallaries. Or it's going to implode and all of us are going to end up desperate for work when the financial crash wrecks everything 10x harsher than we've ever imagined.

    To me the AI fear wouldn't be as bad, if we were further dipping our toes in. UBI or an economic system where we didn't have to work to live. Of course in america we're seeing the opposite as they are adding work requirements to food stamps, medicaid etc...
