October 25th, 2026: Reckoning Day

  • Brush: Omega - 10048 28mm Boar
  • Razor: Kobar 5/8", full hollow, round point (2)
  • Lather: Fanzine Saponifications - This Is Not a Test - Soap
  • Post Shave: Proraso - Red - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Oleo & Co. - Facial Toner - Toner
  • Fragrance: Barrister and Mann - Lavanille - EdT

Theme justification - Nobody has used Fanzine Saponifications yet today. For shame. u/thestallionpartthree should be disappointed with everyone here.

Relevant Post Shave or Frag - The Proraso splash fits well with the sandalwood and orange in the soap. It's a warm, calming combinatoin that works quite well.

Daily challenge - My main hobby right now, apart from cutting hair off of my face, is running. I've run a couple 10/12k races over the last couple years, and am currently training for my first half marathon this November.

I was going to shave earlier this afternoon, but needed to get out for my long run. The longest in my current training block! Today I ran 13.13 miles, my longest run in my whole damn life.

Given that a good shave was on my mind for most of the run, I'd say my running hobby was involved in today's shave.

$FOF - This Is Not a Test is a lovely, warm, unassuming scent. Sandalwood and orange form the first impression, while hints of lavender peek through in the gaps. It's a lovely barbershop-esque scent in an excellent base, zero complaints on my end.

Proraso Red just brought another layer of sandalwood, anchoring/grounding the feeling left by the soap.

Lavanille is a stark contrast bringing Mousse de Saxe, sexy vanilla, cedar, lavender, and musk. Lavanille somehow smells to me like what I imagine it feels like to be a plant in the deep forest. Green, herbaceous, dank, and exotic. It's one of my favorites from BaM for sure.
