I figured they tried to clean up the shampoo spill with a wet rag

    Well, yeah, that is my assumption, too, because you'd at least try to clean up the shampoo. But I don't know, I also wouldn't expect this to be terribly successful...? Don't you need a specific vacuum cleaner to actually get the dirt out of carpets?

    Edit: I guess, maybe it would work with a short-haired carpet like that...
