If anyone wants a concrete middle ground: I host a small static site behind a Cloudflare named tunnel from a home box — no paid hosting, fixed domain, full raw logs. The one trap I hit was analytics: dashboards reported hundreds of 'unique visitors' until I filtered the raw log and found most were crawlers and my own monitoring probes. Raw logs beat dashboards for tiny sites.
