to bad as I worry people won't realize how good things can be without a perspective from the 70's. it was not all hams and plaques but its direction was improvement. I often think about how when you were hard pressed to see anything plastic outside of toys that life was pretty nice and convenient enough. As much as I like the internet and computers im starting to feel like there is not a whole lot of quality of life improvements with technology in a general way.
