I have something in the back of my head that this is a bad idea to try to do, because the whole ecosystem was built around the assumption that there is a finite number of columns.
At the very least, there are various CLI tools that will show progress bars across the entire horizontal width, or they might also show some infos right-aligned.

From a quick search, I'm also only really finding methods like these, which just chop off the line, with no way to then scroll horizontally...
