The Point of Sale System Experience: A Watchguard router. IPv4 Only in 2025, requires sub to work. "open these 20,000 ports and IPs so we can take credit cards". A Star receipt printer. Proprietary drivers, never prints right, Hates DHCP. The Interface: A boxy point of sale screen. New in 1993. Requires exactly 800x600 display resolution. Hardware older than you. 24/7 internet required. $10,000 yearly license. A man buying a coffee, a woman tapping the screen repeatedly. Pay with card: A long series of button presses. Sonic ring sound. A credit card terminal displaying " CHIP READ ERROR TRY AGAIN". A debit card. The Network: A triple redundant internet, lots of expensive unifi hardware, 30+ security cameras and a random cheap netgear switch. The Server Rack: Image of a server rack completely covered over by ethernet cable spaghetti. The rat in the building roof: A rat with a trollface, next to a broken eithernet cable labelled "Server Link". " I need to see everything my employees do in a 20 mile radius" 'Why you no' guy yelling "How can all THREE redundant internets be down AT THE SAME TIME??!!" A Windows error message: "Error Connecting to Quickbooks, Can't load Point of Sale (Error -67)". A bell curve meme, with the low and high IQ person saying "Just walk the orders to the kitchen", the average intelligence person complaining "We need network kitchen printers because waiters need to stay at the front of house and walking it takes too long!"

The program that you do cash register sales with. It tracks the stuff you scan or enter in and keeps record of every sale for inventory and accounting. Normal business stuff.
