This change alone isn't actually that bad but it shows an eagerness to comply which I can't accept. I'm not sure which distro to choose though, it's probably between Gentoo, Artix and Void permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] DFX4509B@lemmy.wtf 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (2 children) If you're already on Arch, Artix will be easier to move to, although you'll need to enable Arch's [extra] and [multilib] repos to fix any potential dependency issues from some packages not being available in the Artix repos. And with any Arch install, which also includes Artix, CachyOS, or EndeavourOS, I'll still recommend enabling [chaotic-aur] as it makes dealing with the AUR easier as it offers most of the AUR as precompiled binaries. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Infernal_pizza@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 point 7 months ago (1 child) Thanks, I think I probably will end up on Artix eventually. I'm going to try Gentoo first just because it interests me though! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] DFX4509B@lemmy.wtf 2 points 7 months ago Devuan is also a low-friction alt-init option for those who are on Debian, and then of course one could go to Void or Slackware as well. permalink fedilink source parent
