My kid's mini Mardi gras float is due tomorrow, and apparently so is everybody else's.The only hot glue sticks I could find last minute turned out to be too big for our glue gun... (sh.itjust.works)

Eventually I just gave up trying to widdle it down and tried to melt the glue stick directly. Fyi jic you ever find yourself in a similar arts and crafts related emergency, they will catch on fire if you over do it.

Ah, yes, the "Oh, I have a thing due tomorrow, can you help?" at dinner time. Been there.

Let's see, for my son, I built a Venus Diorama in one weekend. I got an A on that.

Also, I built, tested, and compared two simple solar oven designs for my step-son's seventh-grade science project. Then, I wrote the paper in his voice, because he had to spend the weekend with his dad. I got an A on that one, too.

I fully enjoyed doing both, I was surprised at how well the solar ovens worked.
