Have a hard time believing our fellow lemmings voted for the trumpet, so it's not really on them.

    It is. America has in recent time had a thing for social divide, coming from both sides, yes, but the whole "cancel culture" thing certainly didn't help, which was mainly driven by the left. That and a lack of actually competent democratic candidates, they basically made a tinderbox for right wing populism. The left lost the election. For that, yes, you can blame a group for their failure to win an election.
