Which streaming device is the least worst? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

My sister needs a streaming device but they all seem to be awful. The only one that seems somewhat decent is the Apple TV but that's too expensive. Out of the cheaper ones which one is the least worst? I'm currently leaning towards a Firestick because it seems marginally better than Roku and Chromecast have apparently been discontinued

What I ended up doing a couple years ago when I needed some was follow a guide I found online which told you how to take the $20 Walmart Onn brand Google TV box and set it up through side loading alternate apps to basically all of the shitty locked in Google stuff. I don't know how effective that will be now with the stuff Google is pulling but that's what I would be researching now if needed a new one.
