As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

The Senate and House versions of the Republican tax bill would reverse efforts to modernize the energy system and reduce greenhouse emissions.

We should be allowed to withhold our tax dollars from governments this evil. (Yes, I understand how inherently problematic that idea is. Surely you get what I’m saying though.)
