It's actually possible to have a somewhat usable smartphone with Android, without Google services. That's just not possible with Apple. You can even buy an Android without Google today. With a phone like this, whether off-the-shelf or DIY, you can have a reasonably useful phone, use the web, and organize without being tracked by Google or Apple, and therefore the fascist US gov't. That's not possible with an iPhone.
