Dear, Subjects

Thank you for contacting my office regarding the Kids Online Safety Act (S.1748). I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important piece of legislation.

As you may know, the Kids Online Safety Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate on May 14, 2025. This bill would require social media platforms to enhance their protections for users under the age of 17, creating a safer online environment for our children and inhibiting the reach of malign actors. While I understand the importance of freedom of speech in online domains, I believe that we need to take strong steps to put commonsense laws in place to protect children from criminals looking to exploit them on the internet.

As a member of the Law Enforcement Caucus, I am committed to ensuring that law enforcement agencies have the resources, training, and support they need to protect our communities effectively.

Moving forward, please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as Congress considers future legislation on this important issue. Voices like yours matter in Washington – they keep our democracy strong and ensure that the priorities of Arizonans are heard where decisions are made.

Thank you for sharing your views, and I hope you will continue to keep me informed regarding issues that concern you. I encourage you to visit my website gallego.senate.gov to sign up for my e-newsletter or follow me on Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, and X to receive periodic updates on my activities as your senator in Washington, D.C.

Sincerely,
