Still eliminated.

Eliminated in a bad loss. Brian White just wrecks us. That might be his third brace against us?

What a revealing season. I did not renew for next year. I will watch from home next year. Last home game at least a chance to boo and get some of it out.

Great article that touches first hand on some of the things the SDFC fanbase has already started to sense in year 2 of the MLS clubs existence.

Amazing article. Regarding SDFC as the "top flight" destination for RTD kids:

The ownership of top-tier clubs in Denmark, Egypt, and the USA is often touted as a strategic advantage, a ladder for players to climb. In reality, these foreign entities function as holding mechanisms designed to extract maximum value before the players are discarded or sold. The narrative of these clubs as "stepping stones" is a fabrication used to lure aspirants into a long-term contract that is difficult to escape. For the players who manage to reach the foreign clubs, the experience is frequently devoid of the development promised. Instead of a structured pathway to the world's top leagues, these clubs often serve as temporary warehouses where players are held in a state of limbo. The timeline for advancement is indefinite, with clubs frequently citing "lack of opportunities" or "strategic planning" as reasons for delaying transfers. This tactic keeps players dependent on the academy's infrastructure and financially tethered to the Ghanaian operation. The transfer of players to these foreign clubs is often a one-way ticket to commercial exploitation. The academy retains a share of the player's future earnings, effectively selling their labor to the highest bidder while maintaining control over their career trajectory.

I know its just me here, but I'm gonna try to keep posting and talking in this community, even if its just to myself. I'd rather be the first and alone on Lemmy than fighting through reddits BS.

So here's a match day thread for today's game up in LA.

This team has a penchant for putting up a mediocre result to delay elimination, just enough to seed doubt. I suspect we will see the boys actually fight all out, and come away with a hard fought loss or a draw. I think we will again need at least 3 to win, and if LAs front line is on, then Kieran and Oscar are going to get worked over for 90 minutes.

We can still squeak a result here, but I think most fans welcoming the end of this stupid season. Put us out of out misery, please.

A good article. Lots of confusion and infighting amongst the fans about the why's of the teams performance in 2025.

Time until the refs invoked: 10 seconds?

Miss the lad, but he's having such a good time there, and playing aggressively.

Good episode as usual, and the thing that keeps coming back for me is what tony says about 45 mins or so into the pod, which is that this team is technically a "professional football team" but behaves like an academy, or a project. They note that in Mikey's prematch presser, he (as usual) never mentions actually winning games. That the team is focused on UNITY and BELIEVING. Bro its not even about football, this man is holding a summer camp.

Tired of hearing Mikey yap, and feel bad for Anders. Win or die this week, and I suspect the team will stay playoff execution for another week.
