Im curious, would ACT fall under the umbrella of forcing people into complacency under capitalism? I remember Stephen Hayes warning against misusing ACT for this purpose, in terms of working with queer populations and “conversion” therapy.
I could see any form of therapy as being used for this purpose.
I actually used ACT when I was still in practice with a pedophile. Ultimately, he ended up back in prison, yet it seemed to help with his urges for a while.
ACT could be used to help an individual to help overcome their fears of resisting capitalism, by helping them access their values of justice and compassion.
