I think the world is finally seeing the US for what it is.

The destination is to the DNS server. They can see I'm asking 9.9.9.9 for something maybe
What does that tell oracle or google
Also one of 3 chiefs, ceo cto coo
He's one of five, though.
try not to drool on your keyboard
Doesnt matter if the packets are encrypted, they have a destination. It's like if you sent mail to a sketchy address, it doesn't matter if the envelope is never opened, the address is still on the envelope.
So in this case the envelope would be going to cloudflare. Both Oracle and Cloudflare tell google about the envelope, and Cloudflare opens the envelope and tells google that the envelope was asking about xxx-website.com.
Nah what I need is for specific addresses on my custom domain to be forwarded. E.g. my wife uses big tech email but has used addresses on my domain at times, and these need to be forwarded to her if used.
It's a different use case than relay email, which is also something I heavily use.

For forwarding, would addy.io work for your use? They have a decent free tier
Well, fuck.
TIL Zoho is still around.
My assumption was that it would not have some of the features I want as a new service, but I'll consider it once it launches.
I thought that at first, but then Tuta to Tuta emails are the only ones encrypted. Where as you can put GPG in your email client for IMAP and encrypt email to anyone that has GPG in theirs, regardless of their email inbox. Tuta doesn't seem to support that and the number of emails going to Tuta are likely almost zero for me. So I'm happy with a provider that supports GPG/PGP if they support IMAP for the E2EE available with GPG.
Proton has better support, with Proton to Proton encryption plus they support PGP to some extent as well. My experience with Tuta shows me that Proton are definitely further along in features.
Hmm it only started in 2024 so not much history, and they seem to have many AI features. Without more info I'd be a bit worried it was vibe coded given the timeline, push for AI, and that they don't seem to be a known company who could have invested in it.
This article mentions how Fastmail laid off most of the group of their staff trying to form a union...
I think a lot of us are 😂
Thanks for the suggestion! I feel like I'm gonna have to sign up to everything to see if they support forwarding emails to another address as no one seems to list it in their features 🥲
With Proton, my understanding is their Proton Foundation nonprofit is the biggest shareholder, so they can keep control of things and there's no risk of a buyout option.
Thanks for the suggestion. Is it Zoho.com, who's home page advertises their vibe coding stack?
I don't see many other people talking about it, but I personally use Zoho for my email with a custom domain and I really like how it works.
It doesn't know it, it passes the encrypted content between the DNS resolver and the requester
The packets are encrypted! Oracle doesn't know the keys unless they read the RAM of the VPS
Your welcome. I hope the vid helps.
Depends who owns the majority voting shares in the company, does the employees own more voting shares than the ceo? it's often not the case and the CEO has majority, so the company is the CEO.
Oh! Thank you for the clarification! 😆
Yeah, I was gonna say this. Not supporting IMAP is a very intentional design choice. If you're using IMAP then you don't care about encryption at rest.
Before you say "but I do my own encryption" - that's great, but do you think the vast majority of IMAP users do?
Tuta's philosophy is that either you care about encryption or they're not the right provider for you.
