If you have, or are thinking about applying for the #SocialWebFoundation Fediverse multimedia grant, and thinking about building for, or on top of #owncast, please feel free to reach out. If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to talk through something I’m happy to chat. This opportunity is exciting for the creators on the Fediverse, and I’m really looking forward to how Owncast can be a part of that. Read more about the grant at socialwebfoundation.org/2026/1. Good luck to all applying!

Do you have any conferences or events on your calendar coming up?While I'm not in a place to be able to afford to travel currently, I still want to find ways to get an #Owncast presence at events that might be interested in it.I'd love to send you a package of swag to drop off at events. We've had a couple of people generously volunteer to do this in the past, and it was awesome. No additional work is required. Just take the stuff to the place, and drop it off at the swag table.

Sysadmin blog post: Experimenting with audio streaming"Yesterday I had some fun tinkering around with my live streaming server setup""How much could the server handle without being scaled up. Like if there wasn’t a big production, but I just… pressed the live button.""[my music] needs space and care, but if you give it that, you can be greatly rewarded. So by sharing a moment together, giving the music space, we can have a great time!"kristofferlislegaard.com/blog/#fediwave #owncast #icecast

Here’s a way you can help #Owncast by doing almost nothing. If you have any plans to go to a FOSS-adjacent conference or event at any point, contact me beforehand and I’ll send you a pack of stickers, pins, etc to drop off at the event.Share this with others who might be attending events in the future. This small favor would make a large difference! Thank you!

#Owncast / #Fediwave streamers:Do you have a recurring show? If so, when is it?I am planning to start up my bi-weekly radio show on @live after the summer and I don't want to collide with other streamers (bonus: gliding). On Wednesday I fired up the test stream only to discover that @strim were having a live concert! Of course I sent everyone over there for the gig, and we did afterparty over at mine instead. But it would be super useful to map out all the regular shows.U know any?

Thanks to everyone tuning in to my radio-style audio-only stream at @live tonight.I am thinking about maybe making this something like a biweekly (or something) thing. Seems like a great format to play unreleased tunes and hang out in the chat.It is also very low key since I can do it from my home without rigging up lots of video gear.Keen on tuning in?#owncast #fediwave #radio

Later this day I will get back to Final Fantasy X International on PS2 live on Owncast. 16 hours into the game, I haven't played and streamed this one for over a year yet. 🎥FFX International is an updated version released in Japan in 2002. It's my first and only import so far. I decided to import this version because it runs in 60 fps and it offers the same extended features like the PAL release. Luckily my modded PS2 runs import games. 🇯🇵freestreamers.btfree.org/event#Owncast #retrogaming #gaming

Spent this morning looking offstream for the stamp in Super Mario 3D World I couldn't find during yesterday's stream. Snapshot mode is a very handy tool here. 📸 Also now seem to know what the 8bit sprites from the game's characters in some of the levels indicate: You need another character here to reach the secret. In this case Luigi who can jump higher than Mario. ⬆️Will stream the further playthrough later this day, 3pm CET. Seems like we already reached the final world. 🏰#Owncast #gaming
