These aren't direct copies, but capture the flavor quite well if you can find someone to print them.

Wish they still made these!
I'm not sure I agree... Even before the 2e version there was still some basic cohesion with the six limbs. The only real exceptions to this were the squigs.
By the time 2e came along, squigs were gone (along with zoats 😢) but the cohesion was increased even further - everything now had the Tyranid Warrior style exoskeletons, six limbs, teeth and shells. They looked like they shared a fundamental biology
I realise that the Armorcast models are based off the simplified cartoonier epic versions. I think the main issue is I didn't like them to start with either 😑
Tyranids had a whole mashup of influences, and mollusks were prominant in their early spaceship designs.

The 'nids were really any and every flavor of organic shape until the 3e look created the unified spiky-dinosaur-bug aesthetic.
I realise that everything is designed by someone, and that there's always more to the story, but...
Even as a kid, I never liked the Armorcast Tyranid stuff - it never felt like they "got" what the Tyranids were. The things just looked like big generic mollusks.
I love miniscape. Although using swipe to text wanted to say monosaccharides rather than miniscape. Great content.
I thought it said Canadian for a second lol
For some reason i thought it's a weird photo of some hockey players abd a zamboni
The old school IG heavy weapons were so sick without the bases.
Ooooh, shiny models!
Also, that leopard pelt on the first mini is looking great.
@setsneedtofeed I have the whirlwind and vindicator issues. And the first Baneblade in 28mm was just instructions to build it yourself out of plasticard. I only tried building one thing though, and ork blitzwagon.
This is nicer than the new marine tanks.
Oh, look, Zulu in space!
The detail on those braids. Damn, painting minis is some high arcane shit.
For me the divide is more related to when they went public. Around third edition. Just my opinion though!
That said I painted a set of these, wait, no, two sets, and for some reason hated them. I found them repetitive and tedious, much to my own annoyance!
It's more commonly referred to as 'midhammer' (as most things from 3rd until 7th are). But I don't think splitting the community for the sake of it wouldn't do anything positive. It's mostly dead enough as is already.
Anyways, those were some fantastic models. Looking forward to watching the video when I'm finally home again.
Whilst the AoBR deffkoptas are nearly twenty, it pains me to call them Oldhammer...
@setsneedtofeed Kniggets!
@setsneedtofeed Nevermind. Found it myself. White Dwarf issue 97.
@setsneedtofeed Where is this from?
@setsneedtofeed bloody great nostalgia
I always point people to OnePageRules skirmish rules. Super easy and flexible way to get use out of 28mm minis. Decently easy to get people to try it out since the rules are simple and pretty much any 40k minis (that they probably already own) can be used.
Computer Maus
I have a bumch of these somewhere in the basement. Sick as hell but I never knew anybody else intro Necromunda so I never actually played it.
Love them
