69-year-old Vester “Moe” Stringfield died after a beating in Morgan County in November 2021.

45-year-old Larry West was standing next to Stringfield’s car, and Johnson said he told deputies he beat up Stringfield, also saying “don’t call me Larry, call me Abraham Lincoln!”

Larry West (AKA Abraham Lincoln) was found guilty of manslaughter. Sentencing is scheduled for June 1.

High Point police said that before the shooting, one man got into an argument over a turkey with a Food Lion employee. During that argument, another man reportedly stepped in and started to argue with the first man.

Following the argument, one of the men -- it was unclear which -- walked outside to get a gun. When he did, the other man also went out of the store. Police said that once outside, the two men shot at each other and one was hit in the arm.

WJCL reported that police said the confrontation began when a man was leaving the store with a shopping cart and Schroeder kicked it as he passed by.

Schroeder’s father told WJCL that his son “was never, ever confrontational unless he was confronted first,” and that the police version of events does not tell the full story.

Cops are lazy and lie constantly...

You can't trust anything they say, but every Walmart has ridiculous camera coverage.
